We tried . . . but the Tri is no more!

In the summer of 2012 and 2013 Sandpoint's annual big three endurance events linked arms, legs and pedals for a unique twist on triathlons we called the TriSandpoint.

Alas, for 2014 the TriSandpoint has been discontinued. Our three sponsor events below will continue, of course! But the cumulative time-keeping that enabled us to put on the Tri will no longer be available. A huge THANKS to all who participated in our two-year try of the Tri.

And remember, our three big events are all still very much alive for 2014!

CHAFE 150 bike Ride: June 21, 2014
This one-day ride through gorgeous river and lake valleys in the frontal ranges of the Rocky Mountains is one of the region's finest biking events. This year there will be distances of 100 and 150 miles, plus a shorter family-oriented ride. In its seventh year, with a cap of 500 riders, the CHAFE raises money for different charitable causes each year. See more and register at CHAFE150.org.
Long Bridge Swim: August 2, 2014
Entering its 19th year, this 1.76-mile swim across magnificent Lake Pend Oreille - Idaho's biggest lake - stands as the premier open-water swimming event in the Pacific Northwest. Last year upwards of 800 swimmers participated! Entry fees benefit swimming lessons for youth. Get details and register at LongBridgeSwim.org.
Scenic Half Marathon: September 21, 2014
With a route through forested mountains and alongside stunning Lake Pend Oreille, no wonder it's called the scenic half marathon. In only its fifth year, it already attracts hundreds of runners. TriSandpoint participants will compete at the 13-mile, half marathon distance; the event benefits the Sandpoint Chamber and local charities. See it and register at ScenicHalf.com.

Once again, thanks to all those who participated in the TriSandpoint.
