Accomplishments

As Bonner County Commissioner, Todd Sudick has many accomplishments.

BUDGET
Todd is your current County Commissioner District 2 . His hard work produced a balanced budget for FY2015-16 with a zero levy increase. The County also paid off $1.2 million in debt. Solid Waste opened a new collection site in Blanchard and will construct a new site at Dufort Rd. and Hwy 95 starting this springAnchor. The Road department added additional miles to the mag chloride treatment program and has a plan to do additional paving this year. He fulfilled a campaign promise to review Planning and Zoning ordinances and process. That will continue when he is reelected. As part of that review the Building Location Permit process was changed. Residents can now construct a 1,000sq/ft out building by just filing an exemption. More changes are coming in an effort to reduce the paternalism of current codes and protect property rights. Todd continues to bring a professional business like approach to County government.

PLANNING AND ZONING
The Commissioners will continue to review Bonner County planning codes and make changes as necessary to reduce the financial burden on county residents and streamline the permit application process. We have already made changes in the code to increase the size of outbuildings exemptions to 1,000 square feet before it becomes necessary to apply for a Building Location Permit. In addition, a BLP is not required to bring power to a property or upgrade electrical. Our intention is to protect property owner rights and reduce the paternalism of our current codes.

DEBT
The county paid off $1.2m in debt last year. That came about because of a financial review of the County budget process and new funds management procedures. I am hoping that we can become debt free in the next two budget cycles.

SOLID WASTE
The County opened a new solid waste collection site south of Blanchard. That will save the south west County residents from driving all the way to Idaho Hill. We will have a new collection site completed in 2016 at Dufort Road and Highway 95 to replace the site that currently sits on State owned property.

ROAD AND BRIDGE
The Commissioners are dedicated to improving county roads through reconstruction and paving. The Road Department has added additional mileage to our mag-chloride applications to reduce dust on our road system.
